illustration friday: Sea

I don't like this mermaid. I wanted to do a cute little seonna hong-type of illustration, but she's amazing and i am...well....what's less than not?
so against my better judgement, i'm posting it here anyway. tomorrow is friday anyway and with it is a new idea.
the original was done with water color crayons on just sketchbook paper so it's kinda warbely....i need to get watercolor paper i think...
my boss is also out this afternoon, so i'm using the time to see what "filters" do in photoshop.
i actually like those better so i'll include them too....
(half tone)
(reticulation)
(cross hatch)

These are great! Glad you posted them!

I like the reticulation one best..it has a stamp-like quality and would look really great on a tshirt with some dark type on it. If you increased the contrast on it and printed it out all black (and copied it) you could gocco it! Just like the blond lady on the video.

Also, the cross hatch one came out quite cool...I'd be itching to print it out and outline it with black/sepia ink...with all the filters you can't even tell it was warbly to start out with!
